Panimation NYC Co-Founder 2017
Website: panimation.tv
I became a part of the Panimation community in 2016. Originally founded in London, Panimation quickly became a space I wanted to be an active part of. With the help of Emily Suvanvej, we co-founded the Panimation NYC Chapter. What started out as a brunch with 7 folks grew into a community of over 400 women, trans and non-binary friends from across the industry. We invited our newfound community to be a part of events we planned where the focus was to highlight underreppresented communities within the larger animation industry. I was happy to be that connection through 2022 as a co-founder and admin. The baton was passed on to new folks that took on the admin roles and continue carrying the torch today. I am still a very active member within this beautiful community that continues to thrive and grow.

About Panimation
Panimation (previously known as Punanimation) was founded in February 2015, by 3 friends:
Bee Grandinetti, Hedvig Ahlberg, and Linn Fritz.
Although we were originally just 3, today our whole community is built by over 4000 women, trans and non-binary friends from all over the world, working within the many different fields and specializations of animation and motion graphics.
Events
Our events featured speakers from our animation and mograph communities. We always highlited our own community by having folks submit their work as it played at the event while people mingled.
The first event was with the industry giant Michelle Higa-Fox and it took place at Adobe Headquarters in NYC. Our second, featured a panel of the incredible talented directors Erica Gorochow & Joyce N. Ho along with the fantastic illustrator Simone Noronha. Our third event was a double whammy! We paired up with Vimeo's Ladies with Lenses and hosted a double screening in tandem with our London Panimators.
