rap sh!t season 2 main title sequences
Client: HBOMAX/HOORAE MEDIA
Role: Creative Director, Motion Graphics
I had the amazing opportunity to work with Hoorae Media as a Motion Graphics Director pitching, designing, animating and delivering all Main Title Sequences for the 8 episodes of the last season of RapSh!t. I worked closely along with Issa Rae and Syreeta Singleton to ensure the Title Sequences were bespoke and each had easter eggs in them for what would happen in each episode. The show is set in Miami and I used the color and textures of sunsets and fruity drinks as well as the hip hop community in Miami as inspiration for all Main Titles. This project was not only fun but a great creative challenge I tackled with enthusiasm!

Our characters are lost and listless. They are back to square one. The need A Sign. The first concept is about finding a sign. The second is about the space they came from and the realities of their situation when they're back home. And the last comes directly from a line in the script about their goodbye/good luck balloons hadn't deflated and they were already back home.

Episode 208- design boards
For the final episode of the season, the main characters have to make a major decision, one way or the other. The first concep is a tug of war with the lines splits pushing and pulling against one another. The second concept is the very different ways their campaigns would look depending on their decision. And the last concept is a turn table, upside down, which-way-do-i-go and the feeling of being pulled in 2 directions.
